DANCE YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP 2012

YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP

Junior and Senior Scholarships will be awarded as follows:

400    JUNIOR:
First Prize $300
For competitors aged 13 years and under

To be eligible to enter the Scholarship, competitors must perform in a minimum of three age sections (excluding improvisations).

Students are to perform one routine of their choice (this routine may be repeated).  The Adjudicators decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The winner will not be eligible to enter in the Junior Scholarship in 2012 unless changing from Junior to Senior.

401    SENIOR:
First Prize $700
For competitors aged 14 to 20 years only.
To be eligible to enter the scholarship, competitors must perform in a minimum of three age sections (excluding improvisations), and submit a BRIEF Resume (no more than ONE A4 page) of the competitors relevant studies and standards reached at time of entry.  THIS RESUME MUST BE INCLUDED WITH THE COMPETITOR’S ENTRY, AS THE ENTRY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS THE RESUME IS ENCLOSED.
Students are to perform two contrasting routines.  One routine may not be a repeat of a dance previously danced in the Eisteddfod.  The Adjudicator’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winner will not be eligible to enter in the Senior Scholarship in 2012.
402    LOCAL SENIOR:
First Prize $250
For competitors aged 14 to 20 years only.
To be eligible to enter the scholarship, competitors must perform in a minimum of three age sections (excluding improvisations), and be a permanent student of a dance school within 2795, 2799 & 2787, refer to general rule 23.  They must also enter the Senior Scholarship section 401 and dance according to the above rules as in Section 401.
PLEASE NOTE:  It will not be necessary to dance in the Senior Local Scholarship section.  The competitor’s name will be printed in the program only to identify participants to Adjudicator.  
The winner will not be eligible to enter in the Local Senior Scholarship in 2012.
